Wind Symphony of Southern New Jersey

A wind ensemble performing a wide range of wind band, concert band, big band and orchestral
repertoire in the New Jersey, Greater Philadelphia and Delaware region.

Wind Symphony of Southern New Jersey

Founded in 1965 by Lucien Caillet as the Cherry Hill Symphonic Band, this brass, woodwind and percussion ensemble has evolved into a dynamic musical group.

Under one name or another, the group has played with soloists as diverse as David Bilger, principal trumpeter of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Stan Kenton, , David Amram, and renowned soprano Marie Robinson. We draw our membership from the Delaware Valley and positions are open by audition only. Our musical backgrounds are diverse and include experience in jazz, orchestral, rock, music theater, and chamber music. Most of the members hold music degrees.

The group has toured Austria and the United Kingdom performing concerts at the Royalty and Empire Exhibit at Windsor Castle. We were honored to perform Malcolm Arnold's Four Scottish Dances at Kneller Hall under the baton of Colonel George Evans, O.B.E., Director of the Military School of Music (Ret.).
